Identidad de género y honor en los sectores populares de Cali colonial

The objective of this article is to explain the formation of the gender identities in the popular sectors, starting from the assimilation and the resistance to the code of honor and predominant gender in Cali, at the end of the colonial period. Men and women of the popular sectors, assumed and defended, in certain situations, other types of behaviors and gender attitudes, that they could supplement and/or compete with the paradigms of masculinity and femininity of the period.El objetivo del presente artículo es explicar la formación de las identidades de género en los sectores populares, a partir de la asimilación y resistencia al Código de Honor y género predominante en Cali a finales del período colonial. Hombres y mujeres de los sectores populares asumieron y defendieron, en determinadas situaciones, otros tipos de comportamientos y actitudes de género, que podían complementar y/o rivalizar con los paradigmas de masculinidad y feminidad de la época
