The World Bank views the privatization of energy and the urban systems of water purification and distribution as a political choice of each country. While many developing nations have adopted the organization�s parameters, the lack of discussion between governments, citizens and donors is evident. Under this circumstances, the greatest concern of the population is related to social equality in the access to water. The first effect of privatization is the rise in fares.
