This article is resulting from the investigation Competitiveness Factors to promote the development of the Region Caribbean Colombian. Barranquilla, 2010. From which you can say that if the Colombian Caribbean began as a pioneering region in major factors of the economy, with many alternatives for growth and sufficient resources to promote development in the country and that due to mismanagement of all these advantages, in the course of the years has been seen as a region behind, away from growth and with remote possibilities of development; Nowadays all residents have responded and have begun to take control of their actions for regional development leaving aside the individualism on the basis of projects promoted by leaders of the region. Today it is seeking to be an autonomous region; based on the fact recognize and analyze that makes the difference when you work in equipment; seeking promote the development through the strengthening and benefit of the comparative advantages that owns each department and thus make it competitive advantages that will become a model of regional competitiveness. The Caribbean Coast want to reach quality and excellence in their processes and through the study which has conducted the Observatory of Colombian Caribbean, the Chamber of Commerce in Cartagena and the Group Bancolombia reported the work that is doing to achieve this goal. The survey made clear which are the challenges of each department; work in the achievement of these is the priority goal of the Caribbean Region. The nine competitiveness factors were chosen by institutions of high prestige world economic FEM, Bank of the Republic, BSI), within these there 71 indicators that measure excellence, productivity, growth and sustainability of the region. The Caribbean Colombian Coast is a region that is giving a new approach to its primary activities, optimizing the secondary and strengthening the tertiary in order to compete to higher standards.Este artículo es resultante de la investigación Factores de Competitividad para Promover el Desarrollo de la Región Caribe Colombiana. A partir de la cual se puede afirmar que si el Caribe Colombiano inicio como una región pionera en grandes factores de la economía, con muchas alternativas de crecimiento y recursos suficientes para promover desarrollo en el país y que debido a malos manejos de todas estas ventajas, en el transcurso de los años se ha visto como una región rezagada, alejada del crecimiento y con lejanas posibilidades de desarrollo. Actualmente todos sus habitantes han reaccionado y han empezado a tomar control de sus acciones en pro del desarrollo de la región dejando a un lado el individualismo a partir de proyectos impulsados por líderes de la región. Hoy se está en busca de ser una región autónoma; fundamentándose en el hecho de reconocer y analizar que marca la diferencia cuando trabaja en equipo; buscando promover el desarrollo a través del fortalecimiento y provecho de las ventajas comparativas que posee cada departamento y así convertirlas en ventajas competitivas que se conviertan en un modelo de competitividad regional. La Costa Caribe quiere alcanzar calidad y excelencia en sus procesos y a través del estudio que realizo el Observatorio del Caribe Colombiano, la Cámara de comercio de Cartagena y el Grupo Bancolombia se informa el trabajo que está haciendo para alcanzar esta meta deseada. El estudio dejó claro cuáles son los retos de cada departamento, trabajar en la consecución de estos es la meta prioritaria de la Región Caribe. Los nueve factores de competitividad fueron escogidos por instituciones de alto prestigio económico mundial (FEM, Banco de la República, BSI), dentro de estos existen 71 indicadores que miden la excelencia, productividad, crecimiento y sostenibilidad de la región.
