The purpose of this essay is to make a comparative analysis between the film �\Hipotesis de un Cuadro Robado. (�\The Hypothesis of the Stolen Painting.) by Raul Ruiz, starting with the critical method that Jose Lezama Lima called the network of images or counterpoint method. This method iniciated a singular perspective and the bold interpretation of historical temporality, not as the linear narration of the European-Occidental world, but as a snapshot of temporalities between the past and present, which is a characteristic element of the (Neo-) Baroque aesthetic of Latin American origin, and which certainly challenged the concept of a hegemonic aesthetic and Euro-centrism.
