Introduction: Lemierre´s syndrome also known as necrobacillosis and postanginal sepsis is characterised by jugular vein suppurative thrombophlebitis in association with septic emboli to several sites including the lungs. Should be suspected in patients with antecedent pharyngitis, septic pulmonary emboli and persistent fever despite antimicrobial therapy. Case: We describe the case of a 41 year old woman who was admitted to our hospital due to fever. Given the deterioration of her clinical state she was admitted into ICU. In chest x-ray showed bilateral pleural effusion. In a CT scan we found jugular vein thrombophlebitis confirmmed then by ultrasonography and cavitary pulmonary nodules .
