Una maquinaria dogmática de negociación: Catolicismo y Regeneración en Colombia 1886-1930

The article analyzes the official policy of the Colombian Catholic Church forehead to liberalism between 1886 and 1930. Thesis rejects that Catholicism was totally intransigent with liberal modernity and maintains, on the contrary, that Catholic Church, at the end of the nineteen century, maintained a pastoral distinction between thesis (dogma) and hypothesis (local adaptation), that gave rise to a complex policy of adaptation here denominated �dogmatic machinery of negotiation�, characterized as a discursive device (the neothomist philosophy) and as a political one (a classification system of the types of liberalism) to differentiate men from ideas, and to produce an individualized government, for selecting situations and people, case by case. It was an entropic device that was mining its own capacity to manage the generated tensions and the reached agreements.El artículo analiza la política oficial de la Iglesia católica colombiana frente al liberalismo entre 1886 y 1930. Se rechaza la tesis de que el catolicismo fue totalmente intransigente con la modernidad liberal y sostiene que, por el contrario, la Iglesia de fin de siglo sostuvo una distinción pastoral entre tesis (dogma) e hipótesis (adaptación local), que dio lugar a una compleja política de adaptación que acá se denomina �maquinaria dogmática de negociación�, caracterizada como un dispositivo discursivo (la filosofía neotomista) y político (un sistema de clasificación de tipos de liberalismo) para diferenciar hombres de ideas y producir un gobierno individualizado, seleccionando situaciones y personas caso por caso.
