Del escolasticismo a la independencia, paradigma y ciencia en Popayán, 1767-1808

This research work try to show the process that gave as result deep changes in the ways of think and act from a segment of the society from a part of the Spanish Crown domains in America in eighteen century. This changes products of the XVIII century science irruption and its influence in the politic choices taken for the �criollos� in the colonial town of Popayan between 1767 and 1808. These changes in our vision helped to create the first group of �criollos� who revealed against the imperial Spanish authorities at first of nineteen century. This research it`s unmark in a important period of universal history with process like enlightenment and the affiance of the modern science. In the sphere of the Hispanic colonies, events like Bourbon reforms and the impulse of the new studies in Spain and America, the French revolution and the Napoleonic invasion to Spain.Este trabajo de investigación intenta dar cuenta del proceso que dio como resultado profundos cambios en las formas de pensar y de actuar de un segmento de la sociedad en una parte de los dominios americanos de la Corona española, teniendo en cuenta como la ciencia del siglo XVIII influyó en las subsiguientes tomas de decisiones políticas tomadas por los criollos de la ciudad colonial de Popayán entre 1767 y 1808 y que terminaron por crear el primer grupo de criollos que se rebelaron contra las autoridades imperiales españolas. El estudio se enmarca en un periodo importantísimo para la historia universal, como es el de la ilustración y el afianzamiento de la ciencia moderna.
