Learning of General Physics in the engineering careers is, in many cases, affected because students have little knowledge of the mathematical tools necessary to formalize the phenomena under study. In the particular case of electromagnetism, it is enhanced by the fact that mathematical concepts concerning vector calculus, in most engineering curricula, are studied concurrently with electromagnetic phenomena, marked by the vector character of electromagnetic field.
