El estudio de las migraciones en la Ciencia Política: Un intento de sistematización

Political Science has arrived late, in comparison to other disciplines, to the research about immigration. These other disciplines (Sociology, Economics and Anthropology) have defined how this phenomenon must be studied in the current time of globalization. Slowly, political scientists have added, among their traditional focus, questions related to immigration and have contributed to create the growing theory about immigration. The aim of this paper is to offer a kind of systematizing about the meeting points, until this moment, between Political Science and migration processes.La Ciencia Política ha arribado tardíamente al estudio de las migraciones internacionales. Otras disciplinas, como la Sociología, la Economía y la Antropología, han marcado la pauta en relación a cómo entender la complejidad de este proceso que, en tiempos de la globalización, ha adquirido dimensiones insospechadas. Lentamente, los cientistas políticos han ido incorporando dentro de sus intereses temáticos las cuestiones migratorias y han contribuido a la creación de la aún incipiente teoría sobre las migraciones. El objetivo de este artículo es ofrecer al lector un intento de sistematización de lo que, hasta el momento, han sido los puntos de encuentro entre la Ciencia Política y los procesos migratorios
