Introduction. Nurse-patient communication is an essential element within the health care services, mainly when the objective is to promote it and to protect it. This work is the fundamental base of the first level of attention infirmary. Material and methods. A survey was made in the Health Centers of the Benito Juárez Sanitary Jurisdiction, during the period included January 21 to February 6, 2009; it consists in the application of two questionnaires with 17 items, with questions directed to analyze the nurse-patient communication, with clinical nurses and patients participation.
