This article refers to the Nicaraguan women that produce tortillas in the community of La Carpio, San José. The job has different meanings for the women, for example they think that it is a useful activity, necessary for their survival. La Carpio is a binational community conformed of Nicaraguan and Costa Rican people; right there take place cultural practices, traditions and costumes of both countries. That women framework a legendary tradition, and her job is an activity very important to the community and the families. they have organization.
