The following article tries to show the border regions of Central America as places of contact and multi level relationships. Historically border regions have suffered the effects of political realism, due to its concerns about security and defense. Central American border regions are not an exception of that situation. However, for the last few years, the regional border policies have adapted a new way of managing the multiple tasks that take place in those regions. This means that several changes have occurred around the focus of security and peace.
