Viabilidad de los materiales inteligentes en el mobiliario de oficina

The so-called ´smart materials´ can modify some of their properties in response to an external stimulus controlled by the user. This fact opens new opportunities in the use of these characteristics in our life. Therefore the IBV (Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia) and FAMO (Association of Furniture Manufacturers for Office and Communities) have performed a research project that identifies the most promising features and gives a response for needs and preferences of users in office furniture. The result has been disseminated using a simple software to describe technical and feasible solutions through industrial use of such materials. The study has been funded by the Ministry of Industry through the program PROFIT.Viabilidad de los materiales inteligentes en el mobiliario de oficina LOS DENOMINADOS MATERIALES INTELIGENTES, QUE POSEEN LA CAPACIDAD DE MODIFICAR alguna de sus propiedades en respuesta a un estímulo externo controlado por el usuario, comienzan a utilizarse en nuevos aspectos de la vida cotidiana. Desde el IBV (Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia) junto con FAMO (Fabricantes Asociados de Mobiliario y Equipamiento General de Oficinas y Colectividades), se ha llevado a cabo un estudio que identifica los materiales y las funcionalidades más prometedoras que responden a las necesidades y preferencias de los usuarios en el mobiliario de oficina. El resultado se ha comunicado a través de una aplicación descriptiva de las soluciones técnicamente viables para el aprovechamiento industrial de este tipo de materiales
