This article examines the appearance of the School and its characteristics in the Spanish cinema. An analysis of several films is carried out, describing the characteristics of teachers, pupils and represented environments. It deals with the different educational levels involved, genre differences appearing in the films and the male and female primary teachers' participation in the life of the school. As a conclusion, it is argued that the School is not an interesting topic for the Spanish cinema and that its appearance might well be described as "settling accounts", which suggests that teachers would also have the right to ask the cinema industry to be "accountable" to them for the treatment received so much in films as in society.En este ...
