La situación de los alumnos extranjeros vista por los maestros de primaria

In this investigation we try to find out what primary education's teachers think about immigrant pupils' integration into schools. In order to do it, we have created and applied a questionnaire to 389 teachers. Results reveal that teachers are favourable to these children's integration into classrooms, so the rest of educational community's members are; although certain negative feelings are perceived also (compassion, alterations in the way the classroom works...). The investigation also reflects that participation of these students varies according to the knowledge area, being smaller on linguistic ones. As regards different ways of enrolment in school which are considered more suitable, something more than half of the teachers choose ordinary school and the rest of them advocate combined education or specific classrooms.En esta investigación pretendemos conocer 10 que piensan los maestros de educación primaria acerca de la integración en las escuelas de los alumnos inmigrantes. Para ello hemos elaborado y aplicado un cuestionario a 389 docentes. Los resultados revelan que los maestros muestran actitudes favorables hacia la presencia de estos niños en las aulas, al igual que el resto de los miembros de la comunidad educativa; aunque también se perciben ciertos sentimientos negativos (compasión, alteración del funcionamiento de las clases...). Se observa asimismo que la participación de estos estudiantes varía según el área de conocimiento siendo menor en las materias lingüísticas. Respecto a la forma de escolarización que consideran más adecuada, algo más de la mitad de los maestros escogen la escuela ordinaria y el resto, aboga por la educación combinada o las aulas específicas
