Las teorías de la inteligencia y la superdotación

The present article analyses the existing relationship between the theories of intelligence and giftedness, as only from the models of intelligence is possible to lay the foundations for the concept itself of giftedness and give a precise assessment about it. The most characteristic point of the gifted is the high degree of intelligence. However, this high intelligence is not enough to decide the existence of giftedness, as in this topic other elements, as creativity, are gathered. When the subjects show some specific ability -as the musical, the mathematical or the artistic one-, this always seems to be linked to a degree of intelligence above the average rate.El presente artículo analiza la relación que existe entre las teorías de la inteligencia y la superdotación, dado que sólo desde los modelos de inteligencia es posible fundamentar la noción misma de superdotación y efectuar una evaluación precisa de ella. El rasgo más característico de los superdotados es el elevado grado de inteligencia. Sin embargo, la alta inteligencia no es suficiente para decidir la existencia de superdotación, puesto que en este constructo confluyen también otros elementos, como la creatividad. En el caso de los sujetos que presentan algún talento específico -como el musical, el matemático o el artístico-, éste aparece siempre vinculado a un grado de inteligencia al menos por encima de la media
