The literature has traditionally argued that while consumer packaged goods firms are somewhat more transactional in their approach to the market, industrial and services markets are more relational. This research closely examines the relationship between consumers and firms with the help of the results of a nation-wide survey. The results show different levels of strength of relationships between consumers and manufactures, and among different brands.
