Periods of droughts were analysed for the Tres Arroyos region, located in the SE of the Buenos Aires province. The study period was 1930-1975. The Palmer's drought index was used in the present study. The index was compared with climate evapotranspiration values and the ones obtained by Thornthwaite's methods. Hydrological balance and humidity anomaly index was also calculated. The analysis of the indexes allowed to conclude that 45.6% of the period were water-deficient. The longest drought period was 17 months (1936- 1939) and it was coincident with an extreme drought (-10.23). The 34.63% corresponded to incipient droughts. The higher frequency of indexes were found between the range of incipient droughtness and moisture.En el presente tra...
