Most applications in CAD/CAM, Machine Vision, and robot motion planning fields depend on using geometric concepts to perform their intended tasks. For these systems to behave intelligently, it is important to represent and reason about geometry. Automated Process planning, and CAD-based vision are two applications which benefit tremendously from improved approaches to geometric representation and reasoning. In this research, we will investigate methods which not only allow us to benefit from improved geometric reasoning to accomplish these tasks to obtain better results, but they also allow us to integrate the two systems. Integration takes us a step closer to the realization of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM)
