The literature on honey bees is so vast and incorporates contributions from such a wide range of different disciplines that few, if any, working scientists even pretend to be familiar with all of it (the author of this chapter certainly does not). Consequently, a given publication\u27s pathways of influence are apt to be very strange and convoluted. As a case in point, consider a paper by A.
