Genealogy as a Genre

Data for this paper is from Sumadija a strongly patriarchal, patriocal, and culturally homogenous area in central Serbia. By reproducing part of a real genealogy, abstracting the underlying metrics and analyzing its structure, I will demonstrate how complex data can be recollected and make possible the preservation and oral transmission of detailed and complicated genealogy in Serbian society.
