New advances in the synthesis of heterocycles under the paradigm of sustainable metal catalysis

Trabajo presentado en el Cost Action CM1407: Challenging organic syntheses inspired by nature –from natural products chemistry to drug discovery, celebrado en Cracovia (Polonia) del 2 al 3 de marzo de 2017.Over the last decade, we have involved in the synthesis of oxa-and azacycles of several sizes using the Prins cyclization and iron(III) salts as sustainable catalysts. We have developed new methodologies to generated sustit uted dihydropyrans, tetrahydropyrans, piperidines and tetrahydropyridines. As a continuation of our previous work, we have focused on the synthesis of substituted oxepanes, oxepenes, oxocanes and azepanes and their application towards the synthesis of natural products and derivatives.
