Karanis; Textiles; Wool

Three fragments of woven wool fabric that have been sewn together. Fragment A - yellowed warp and weft with a 1.7 cm wide purple band 7.5 cm from one end. 1.7 cm from this purple band there is a row of countered weft-twining. The twining loops pass over two warps each. There is a ribbed selvedge.; Fragment B - yellowed warp, purple weft, undyed linen weft-wrapping.; Fragment C - yellowed warp and weft. There is a ribbed selvedge. A small piece, possibly part of fragment C, was sewn between B and C
