The design of a bracing system of a steel-framed building has traditionally been manual iteration work between different alternatives. By applying parametric design where the structures are modelled in relation to each other with adjustable open parameters, the design of a bracing system can be formulated as a mathematical optimization problem in order to achieve more efficient configurations for the bracing system.
