Perceptions from a group of teachers teaching mathematics on the national covenant for literacy in the right age (pnaic)

This qualitative research was carried out with the participation of a group formed by five teachers who teach at a municipal public school in the city of Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The focus of interest in this study is Mathematical Literacy and the course offered by the Program National Pact for the Right Age (Pacto Nacional pela Idade Certa-PNAIC), in 2014. The survey was guided by the following question: How do a group of teachers in a public school in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais perceive the didactical and pedagogical guidelines of PNAIC in Mathematical literacy in their practices? The study aimed to investigate, to analyze and to understand how the teachers, subjects of this survey, receive the PNAIC’s guidelines in Mathematical Literacy in their teaching practice. The analysis material consisted of a Questionnaire, Written Records, a Notepad, Reflective Sessions and the Field Notes of the researcher. The Written Records on pedagogical practice contributed significantly to the teachers’ understanding of the complexity of teaching practice and the processes that involve it. We considered as very important the writing and voice of each participating teacher as well their sharing of experiences and the space for reflection. Along the study we noted that the participation of the teachers in PNAIC has contributed for the expansion and the improvement of their professional knowledges as well it provided an approximation with their peers, strengthening team spirit. Based on the research’s goal and problem, it was elucidated that the teachers' perceptions about the PNAIC were significant for personal and professional growth, providing changes and permanence in their pedagogical practices We verified the importance of a continuous training work that appreciates the collaboration and the involvement of the professionals in search of new perceptions, as well as the necessity of the continuity of the offer of courses and studies for the teachers. The present work intends to bring contributions regarding the formation of teachers who teach Mathematics in the first years of Elementary School, so that the knowledge related to teaching and learning contemplate, in an articulated and cohesive way, theory and practice.Dissertação (Mestrado)Esta pesquisa, de cunho qualitativo, foi realizada com a participação de um grupo formado por cinco professores que lecionam em uma escola pública municipal da cidade de Uberlândia. O foco de interesse deste estudo é a Alfabetização Matemática e o curso oferecido pelo Pacto Nacional pela Idade Certa, no ano de 2014. A pesquisa foi norteada pela seguinte questão: Como um grupo de professores de uma escola pública do município de Uberlândia percebe as orientações didático-pedagógicas do Pacto Nacional pela Alfabetização na Idade Certa (PNAIC) – Alfabetização Matemática para sua prática docente? O objetivo geral da pesquisa foi investigar, analisar e compreender como os professores, participantes desta pesquisa percebem as orientações didático-pedagógicas do Pacto Nacional pela Alfabetização na Idade Certa (PNAIC), Alfabetização Matemática para a sua prática docente. O material de análise foi constituído por Questionário, Registros Escritos, Caderno de Anotações, Sessões Reflexivas e as Notas de Campo da pesquisadora. Os Registros Escritos sobre a prática pedagógica contribuíram significativamente para que as professoras compreendessem melhor a complexidade da prática docente e os processos que a envolvem. Consideramos de grande importância a escrita e a voz de cada professora participante, o compartilhar de suas experiências e o espaço para a reflexão. O estudo mostra, ainda, que a reflexão sobre os aspectos relevantes do ensino da Matemática desencadeou uma atitude mais investigativa sobre a própria prática. Ao longo do estudo, evidenciou-se que a participação das professoras no curso de formação PNAIC Alfabetização Matemática em muito contribuiu para a ampliação e para o aprimoramento de seus conhecimentos profissionais e proporcionou, ainda, uma aproximação com os pares, fortalecendo o espírito de equipe. A partir do objetivo pretendido com a investigação e do problema de pesquisa elucidado, as percepções das professoras sobre o PNAIC foram significativas para o crescimento pessoal e profissional, proporcionando mudanças e permanências em suas práticas pedagógicas. Verificou-se a importância de um trabalho de formação continuada que valorize a colaboração e o envolvimento dos profissionais em busca de novas percepções, e também a necessidade da continuidade de oferta de cursos e estudos para os docentes. O presente trabalho pretende trazer contribuições no que se refere à formação de professores que ensinam Matemática nos primeiros anos do Ensino Fundamental, de modo que os conhecimentos referentes ao ensino e à aprendizagem contemplem, de forma articulada e coesa, a teoria e a prática
