This report is based on research of the New Deal for Communities Youth Inclusion Programme (NDC YIP) in the West Ham and Plaistow area. It presents findings on the early impacts of the NDC YIP project on service users. The purpose of the research was to find out what impact, if any, participating in the activities at the NDC YIP core project had on the anti-social and offending behaviour of the young people who regularly attended. The research was conducted between July 2005 and mid October 2005 and was carried out by the Urban Regeneration Research Team at the Centre for Institutional Studies (CIS) at the University of East London (UEL).
