The Youth Technology Centre: The Click

The Centre for Institutional Studies at the University of East London was commissioned by the South Leytonstone SRB in August 2001 to undertake an independent evaluation of the Youth Technology Centre. The evaluation was focused on the extent to which the project had contributed to SRB Strategic Objective 1 to enhance the employment prospects, education and skills of local people and promote equality of opportunity. The fieldwork took place between October 2001 and February 2002 and a number of different methods were used to collate the data. It was agreed with the Project Manager that the evaluation should concentrate on those services that directly benefit from the SRB funding. The users of four different services were thus evaluated; the Internet cafe (30), the City and Guilds (8), the Learndirect (26) and the Cybersquads (10).
