Memorandum on Training and Assignment of Soldiers of Japanese Descent from the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-1 dated July 17, 1944 with an earlier related memo attached

Memorandum for action to conform to new policy and directing a letter notifying that current instructions prohibiting assignment of soldiers of Japanese ancestry to locations within the Western Defense Command are rescinded as well as rescinding letter AG 353. Provides instruction on the order of priority of enlisted men of Japanese ancestry as to source and also destination unit. Also states no personnel from the continental US to the Pacific Theater except for specially trained language and intelligence personnel and personnel being returned to Hawaii.
