International audienceSince its invention, concrete has been the most widely used building material in the world [1]. Among its constituents, the aggregates occupy up to 80% of the volume. The remaining volume is occupied by a cement paste. This generates colossal quantities of cement and a heavy carbon footprint. Packing density optimization for the granular mixtures allows not only minimizes the quantity of cement incorporated in the concrete but also enhances its performance and durability.
