A Roman villa was discovered and excavated at Traversetolo, in the proximity of Parma. The villa belongs to the farm type with modest, sometimes unfurnished, rooms, very simply organized around open spaces where the main activities were done. The proper handicraft rooms, mainly linked to the production of wine, were faced on these open spaces. The villa was located along the ancient Via Parma- Lucca and, according to rediscovered materials, had long life from the republic to the empire
