Sanguinarine (SA) has been used in toothpastes and oral rinse products and has been recently applied to livestock nutrition. This study was undertaken to examine the reproductive-related consequences of this feeding supplementation, evaluating SA effects (10, 100 and 300 nM) on swine granulosa cell steroidogenesis, oxidative enzyme activities (peroxidase, catalase and superoxide dismutase), and proliferation.
