This paper introduces a simple adaptive control scheme for permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) as an alternative to classical control techniques. Unlike many adaptive controllers, the proposed strategy achieves tracking with a single adaptive parameter and with no currents loop regulation which yields reduced complexity. The control scheme is validated through a set of simulations on an experimentally validated PMSM model
