Cell area coverage in mm-wave fixed cellular systems was studied by considering the joint impact of rain attenuation and lognormal shadowing loss. Spatial information of rain attenuation was obtained from weather radar images, upon which radio cells were simulated. Coverage was computed by adding the distance-dependent mean and lognormal excess path losses to rain attenuation and integrating probability density of coverage over the entire cell area given the power margin at the cell perimeter. Statistical results for a region near Montreal are presented
