Objective: The epidemiological explosion of diabetes is a challenge for Health Systems and the identification of the most appropriate models of care are warranted. The inclusion of primary care physicians in the models is unquestioned whereas the role played by secondary and tertiary care (Diabetes Clinic) is often debated.
