The effects of electrical trigeminal stimulation on activated facial muscles were studied in 20 normal subjects in order to evaluate whether excitatory or inhibitory responses are present and to investigate whether the reflex organization is similar in all the facial muscles. No inhibition was observed in frontalis, orbicularis oculi, orbicularis oris, and mentalis muscles.
