Process aspects of the anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) are analysed. Comments are also given on the ultimately treatment of the anaerobic effluent (digestate) mixed to a ligno-cellulosic bulking agent through a co‐composting step. Some economical considerations are finally discussed
