One of the most relevant issues in population genetics concerns the relative importance of genetic drift and natural selection (or Darwinian selection) in determining evolutionary chance. This work aims at giving an experimental proof of the genetic drift, as an emergence phenomenon in bacterial systems where one species is randomly selected over the others, all growing at the same rate and initially present in the same proportion
