Globalization is usually understood as a unique process and the discussion turns around the question whether to attribute positive or negative value to it. Here I propose a different approach distinguishing between oppositive globalization, which produces levelling out and uniformity, and solidarity globalization, which increases each unique identity through a process of polarization of differences. To interpret the second type of globalization I take into consideration the process of formation (Bildung) of the personal identity following the Christian tradition.
