This literature review focuses on utilizing dance/movement therapy with mindfulness aligned to the Attachment, Self- regulation and Competency —framework. This paper highlights how each dance/movement therapy, mindfulness and the Attachment, Self-regulation and Competency - framework support one another. Research has shown that trauma significantly changes not only an individual’s brain, body, but also how they are present in day-to-day life. This literature not only focuses on these effects, but also goes into details of how dance/movement therapy, mindfulness and the Attachment, Self - regulation and Competency - framework supports a child who has experienced a type of trauma or stressful life event.
