Nasolacrimal intubation with silicone tubing is an effective method of relieving chronic nasolacrimal duct obstruction in children (success rates reported to be about 90 %). The procedure of nasolacrimal intubation is less invasive than dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) and is technically easier to perform.
