This booklet contains a Latin translation and linguistic study of a subset (Chapter 44) of the medieval Ethiopian legal codex known as the Fetha Negest, or Law of the Kings . The paper was presented to the teaching faculty at Halle-Wittenberg University on 26 May 1841 by the two authors, both of whom were Latin scholars at the Halle Orphan House (Schola Latina Orphanotrophei Halensis).
