Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore, 14 years since the introduction of market reforms, the extent to which changes have altered the nature of Sweden\u27s health care financing, examine how these changes have affected the views of Sweden\u27s physicians, and to judge the impact of these reforms on the delivery and quality of care. Design/methodology/approach – Swedish physicians\u27, Federation of County Council members\u27 and health economists\u27 views, were explored.
