K-12 Arts Education Toolkit: A Method for Identifying and Solving for Arts Education Deficiencies in Your Public School

Arts programming in public schools across the US has been cut or diminished. School districts are challenged with providing comprehensive arts programming within their established budgets and teaching abilities while also continually sustaining or improving student achievement on national standardized tests. One potential, viable solution is a partnership between public schools and teaching artists or arts organizations within their communities; however, no framework exists for guiding schools through the process of identifying their needs, selecting available artists or organizations, and developing partnership agreements. This project develops an Arts Programming Toolkit to help educators identify the gaps in their public school arts education and address those deficiencies with partnerships from appropriate local artists or arts organizations. Utilizing this tool will facilitate the integration of comprehensive arts education into the everyday curriculum and make arts learning available to all student
