The purpose of this project is to decrease the footprint of the opioid epidemic by increasing awareness of proper disposal of unwanted, leftover, and expired household medications. The opioid epidemic is negatively affecting many U.S. communities, One way to combat the epidemic is to increase proper disposal of unwanted household medications. Increasing awareness and participation of proper disposal of household medications, including opioids, will not only help to decrease the footprint left by the opioid epidemic, but will potentially decrease the amount of accidental overdoses in household, decrease the impact of improperly disposed medications on the local environment, and decrease the amount of medication involved crime in the communit...
