Variation of the macroscopic parameters of carbon dioxide CO2 passing through a shock wave is studied. The novelty of the work is in correct account of the bulk viscosity while calculating the structure of the shock wave. In the shock front, translational, rotational and vibrational degrees of freedom are excited. The transport processes are modeled using the kinetic theory of gases. The influence of the vibrational degrees of freedom on the transport coefficients for different Mach numbers is studied in detail. The system of Navier Stokes equations is solved numerically taking into account the viscous stress tensor and the heat flux.
