The objective of the 2018-2019 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Design Build Fly (DBF) competition was to simulate a naval bomber capable of aircraft carrier operations. The aircraft had to fulfill many challenging design requirements including, the ability to drop attack stores remotely, unfold and lock its wings remotely from a stored configuration, take off from a ten foot ramp, and include a spinning radome. This year-long project began with design and manufacturing studies in the fall semester.
