The project Sustainability Design Village focuses on capitalizing on the participant\u27s interest in the development of software apps and games as a learning tool to comprehend the complex issues of sustainability and environmental issues facing our world today. Problem-based learning was used as a pedagogical tool where each participant team was assigned a specific complex problem such as loss of biodiversity, air pollution, renewable energy, and carbon footprint. The participant teams worked together for the next 18 months on the assigned topic.
