Russell of Milton, Massachusetts, was bringing the race horse known as Smuggler to Maine, being desirous of showing his famous stallion to the people and breeders of Maine. The horse arrived in Bangor, Maine, on Tuesday, September 19 and competed in events the following Saturday and Monday
