Surgical Site Infections are a common hospital acquired disease. The prevention of Surgical Site Infection at a metropolitan pediatric hospital was lacking thorough education on how to prevent Surgical Site Infections. Literature was used to support this educational program with evidence based practices. To further reduce Surgical Site Infections education played a key role. Most importantly the distribution of education is what this educational program aimed toward supporting. In order to optimize patient outcomes through the use of our educational program literacy requirements must be me.
