Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis is a deformity of the spine that affects 2-3% of the population and often requires treatment in the form of a brace. Most successful braces consist of a rigid plastic shell that can be uncomfortable and limit the patient\u27s ability to perform activities of daily living. The greatest cause of treatment failure is patient unwillingness to wear the brace for the prescribed amount of time, up to 23 hours each day.
